Craft Condiment Label Design

Spice Drizzle

"I need you to help me create a Jar Seal Breaker in the shape of a pepper, and clean up the design of my jar labels."

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Spice Drizzle is a Toronto-based condiment company known for being the healthier chilli oil alternative without sacrificing its delicious flavours.

Anika Fairooz, the founder of Spice Drizzle, wanted to honour her family’s traditions of expressing love through colourful, character-filled cooking. This passion inspired her to create Spice Drizzle — a line of chilli oils made with clean ingredients and everyday versatility that brings South Asian flavours to life in a way that fits naturally into modern Canadian kitchens.

THE PROJECT CHALLENGE

When Anika reached out, she needed her product packaging finalized and print-ready within two weeks. Her existing print house was unable to produce the transparent labels to her specifications, and the original files were not correctly prepared for overprint. Beyond labels, she envisioned custom seal breakers that would match each SKU flavor while aligning with her overall brand identity. The challenge was to deliver both packaging assets and technical print support within a compressed timeframe while working with only local printers.

Since we were working fully remote, my designs relied on clear communications between Anika and I, mostly about crucial measurements for the seal breaker.

Made sure the sealbreakers had a bleed and printed on a kiss-cut sheet for Anika's ease.

THE RESULTS

The project successfully delivered four SKU label sets and four custom seal breakers on time for the Bangla Mela Fair. The labels reflected Anika’s vision for transparent, professional packaging while the seal breakers gave each jar a distinctive, flavorful touch. Despite minor overprint misalignments inherent in the rushed timeline, the launch was a success — the brand had packaging ready for its first major public showcase. This collaboration not only got Spice Drizzle market-ready but also laid the groundwork for future refinements as the brand expands into retail shelves.
